Parent Coaches are used in a variety of ways, including:
- Developing sleeping patterns and scheduling
- Learning effective discipline methods
- Supporting families with special needs children
- Helping children reach milestones
- Communicating with children
- Aiding communication between parents
- Helping parents manage stress and anxiety
- Providing other resources
Kelly brings over ten years of experience in a variety of settings to Building Blocks. She has provided childcare for many children ranging in ages from birth up to pre-adolescent. She has been involved with children and their families through her work as an Early Intervention Specialist, where she provided home based services for children with special needs and conducted play therapy groups. Most recently Kelly worked on an inpatient pediatric psychiatric unit at Tufts-New England Medical Center as a Clinical Social Worker, working with children and their families through extremely challenging times. She also has over seven years of experience as a Bluebird, providing in-home respite care for newborn twins and singletons and consultations to new parents.
