This amazing display of more than 300,000 lights has been a tradition for over 50 years at La Salette. It truly is spectacular... there are seemingly endless illuminated Christmas displays on over 10 acres of land. Lights cover the approximately 20 acre retreat. Light displays cover the majority of the trees, walking paths and hill sides. There is a fish pond that has the station of the cross and rosary placed around the pond. The path that goes around the pond is lit with Christmas lights and in the center of the pond is a water fountain that is lit. Perhaps the highlight of the shrine is the large nativity scene. The nativity is built with life size beautiful ceramic figures. Sometimes there are live animals inside the nativity and at certain times there is a live nativity. Christmas music fills the air. There is a cafeteria, gift shop, hot apple cider, and hot chocolate. There are also church services available for all.
